Our September pottery workshops with Liz Allen are designed for children and families. Participants will learn different pottery techniques such as hand building and wheel throwing. Our September sessions will be held on September 14, September 21, and October 5 from 10am-12pm. All materials needed for this workshop will be provided for participants. Each family will have the opportunity to create and take home one to two pieces of their own glazed and fired pottery.

Pottery for Adults
Our August pottery workshop series with artist Liz Allen is designed for adults (young adults at high school age are welcomed to attend) at the beginner & intermediate levels of their pottery journey. Participants will learn different pottery techniques such as hand building and wheel throwing. Participants will have time and space to discover their own artistic style. All materials needed for this workshop will be provided for participants. Each participant will have the opportunity to create and take home one to two pieces of their own glazed and fired pottery. Participants are encouraged to attend all three sessions. This is a three part workshop series held Wednesday evenings from 6:00-8:00pm on August 7, August 14, and August 28.

Batik Making for Children and Families with Charlene Lutz
Join us for a family workshop session to learn about the art of batik. Batik is a delicate method of dyeing fabric using a removable wax resist. Hot wax is applied to fabric using batik stamps and brushes or other tools. The fabric and wax are then painted. After drying, the wax is removed in a boiling water bath, revealing a pattern on the fabric. You will learn the process of making batik, from applying liquid hot wax with various tools, applying dyes, and setting color. Explore storytelling using patterns and marks or simply create a beautiful work of art to keep and treasure.
