Artists
Selected artists, Liz Allen and Charlene Lutz, are grant funded through The Onion Foundation. Each works directly with community members in creative workshop settings. Children and families are given enriching experiences in the creative visual arts.
Liz Allen
liz Allen creates handmade pottery inspired by nature.
“Growing up surrounded by the natural beauty of northern Maine has inspired my artistic style. I enjoy shaping clay into beautiful functional pieces of art. I am always exploring modern and primitive techniques, and pushing the boundaries of my craft. Pottery connects us to our roots, to the earth, and to each other.”
Charlene Lutz is the author and illustrator of Fox’s Winter Journey (Maine Authors Publishing) and a space holder for inspiring creativity. She is an artist and educator with over 20 years of experience in multiple school and nature-connected settings. Charlene is currently hosting workshops and retreats, alongside teaching at Antioch University. She spends intentional time throughout the week painting, figuring out new ways to make handmade books, stitching and writing and sharing her art with other creative humans on Substack.
